For nearly two decades, Mirth Connect by NextGen Healthcare has been at the forefront of healthcare interoperability, empowering organizations across the globe to seamlessly exchange critical health information. As the world’s leading healthcare integration engine, we are dedicated to delivering a reliable, secure and innovative experience for users. To further this commitment, we are transitioning from a dual license (open-source and commercial) to a single commercial and proprietary Mirth Connect licensing model with Mirth Connect 4.6. It's important to note, open-source users can choose to remain on their current version, upgrade to the last published open-source version 4.5.2, or choose to become licensed Mirth Connect users and upgrade to Mirth Connect 4.6. All GitHub source code, discussion boards, and historical community threads will continue to be available for all Mirth Connect users.

This strategic move is designed to secure the future of Mirth Connect and its global partners, streamline the licensing process, and maintain compliance with industry standards. The transition allows us to make significant investments in advanced features and tools that cater to the evolving needs of enterprise users. It will enhance the quality and reliability of our product, providing Mirth Connect users the best possible experience.

Key Features of Mirth Connect 4.6

Mirth Connect 4.6 introduces fresh and exciting new features, essential security updates, and improves our ability to meet regulatory requirements. More notably, this transition allows us to build direct relationships with all Mirth Connect users, offering a comprehensive and meaningful support experience.

Beginning with Mirth Connect 4.6, the new Enterprise package will include SSL Manager, Channel History, and Message Generator. These features enhance the user experience and equip our partners with more robust integration tools. What’s more, with version 4.6, all tiers (Enterprise, Gold, and Platinum) will include access to the new Mirth® Command Center* by NextGen Healthcare as well as a designated number of channels for channel analytics. The Mirth Command Center acts as a single source for environment and performance metrics for Mirth Connect instances and channels.
